FAQs

Why do I need a bookkeper?

These days, taking an online class or watching a “how-to" video can create the illusion of being an expert. We might be able to check our oil, but we know a certified mechanic is best suited to change our oil and do our regular maintenance. You might be able to do a lot of the day-to-day financial management for your business, but a professional bookkeeper is an expert, who is able to ensure you are well positioned at tax time. Wainz World can also help you with things like maximizing deductions, reporting state sales taxes, and inventory management.

How often do I need my books done?

Like many things, it depends. At Wainz World, we work with many clients on a monthly basis, but we also have others who only need them completed quarterly or annually at tax time. We can ebb and flow with the needs of your specific situation.

How much does bookkeeping cost?

Once you have filled out the Client Questionnaire, we will be able to provide you with a quote. It is based on a number of factors, and we will gladly break down different options that work for you!

Will I still need an accountant?

In many cases, yes. Don't worry. We can help you find the right accountant for your specific needs. We work with lots of different accounting professionals and are here to help!

Do I need a bookkeeper if I have an accountant? What’s the difference between the two?

Contrary to popular belief, accountants and bookkeepers perform distinctly different tasks for the businesses they serve. Bookkeepers are responsible for on-going maintenance of their clients’ general ledgers. A bookkeeper’s common responsibilities consist of:

· Compiling data on a daily basis
· Categorizing expenses in the general ledger
· Reviewing the general ledger for accuracy
· Reconciling bank statements against the general ledger
· Generating financial statements
· Accountants use the accurate and up-to-date general ledger maintained by the bookkeeper to provide advisory services, such as:
· Analyzing the company’s financial data, Preparing income tax returns, Providing tax planning advice

Shouldn’t my bookkeeper be local?

Small businesses no longer need to work with a local bookkeeper. The internet and cloud technology makes it easy for bookkeepers to securely access their clients books anytime, anywhere. Business owners can now select a bookkeeper who truly understands their industry and operations, instead of hiring the local, community bookkeeper by default. Wainz World’s bookkeepers serve all U.S time zones and are easily accessible.
